Working Together

As a nation, we need to accept that our Army is inherently involved in the political structure. We have two options: either fight against them and bring about a revolution, or work with them for the sake of the country and peace.

Option one may sound more appealing, but it comes with certain requirements. Our leaders should be honest individuals, not products of intelligence agencies or individuals who have previously served these agencies to further their personal goals. They should not merely use slogans to gain power and reinstate the same corrupt leadership or landlords who have been exploiting the country's resources for years through various means.

Recent attempts at revolution serve as an example. Many sincere people supported this noble cause, but due to the presence of the same corrupt leadership, it eventually fizzled out. It is clear that the supreme leadership of this movement itself was the creation of intelligence agencies, with its sole goal being the acquisition of power. The leadership had an opportunity to govern the country but failed completely, as evidenced by their track record.

Option two is to work with the intelligence agencies and find a middle ground for the sake of the country's progress. It is important to remember that not everyone in the general public or political leadership is the same; there are both good and bad individuals. Trust me when I say that there are tens of thousands of people like Air Chief Asghar Khan, Pilot Muhammad Mahmood Alam, Abdul Sattar Edhi, and Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan in the Army and among the general public, respectively.

Let our good and honest leaders collaborate with the intelligence agencies and work alongside Army generals for the prosperity of the country. Let's establish boundaries and work together for the sake of the nation. We shouldn't expect everyone to be 100 percent clean from the beginning, but this collaboration can serve as a starting point for greater success. If we continue progressing well, inshallah (God willing), within 10 years, we will develop a good system and minimize or eliminate corrupt practices.

We need to work with our Army and pray to Allah for good leadership from both sides. Importantly, working together should not be about personal gains such as promotions, acquiring plots, or obtaining power. Working together should solely be for the benefit of the general public and the country, without any personal advantage to anyone.

The public can hold leaders accountable, not the Army. Inshallah, individuals like Air Chief Asghar Khan will safeguard the interests of the Army. The general public must not get directly involved, as our enemies may take advantage of such a situation.
