Supreme
Court Decision on Chief Justice is a Victory
for Pakistan and Its People
For the
first time in Pakistan's history, a government
has acted sanely and allowed the legal
process to continue unhindered. There
was no coercion, no devilish high-handedness
to derail the Supreme Court proceedings.
Thanks to the government's large-heartedness,
the judiciary is in a position today to
usher rule of law that would guarantee
that ALL citizens of Pakistan are equal
citizens and no one is above the law.
It will be Pakistan's biggest victory
if all the people of Pakistan with the
strength of the Judiciary make sure that
all future Presidents, Prime Ministers,
Governments, Governors, Chief Ministers,
Mayors, Legislators and Parliamentarians
are honest and law-abiding citizens with
a transparently clean past.
