Trump’s Long List of Outrages
Trump has done so many outrages since being elected POTUS, it is hard to keep track of them all. I’ve built a listI am trying to keep a complete list going, and my initial items are below, but I’m asking for your help to fill in all the things I’ve missed. Please add in the comments.
1. Claimed that millions of illegal votes explained his popular vote loss.
2. Had his NSA resign over lying about contacts with Russian officials.
3. Claim that President Obama wiretapped him last year.
4. Yelled at, then hung up, on the Australian Prime Minister.
5. Refused to shake the hand of German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
6. Did not have his State Department meet with visiting foreign ministry officials from Mexico.
7. Told the Mexican President he was going to send the US military in to clean up Mexico if Mexico didn’t get rid of its “bad hombres”.
8. Support a health care bill that will take away insurance from 24 million Americans while giving 800 billion dollars in tax cuts to the 1%.
9. Offer a budget that hikes defense spending by 50 billion dollars while slashing money to the NIH, State Department, Coast Guard, and ending all funds for Appalachian Redevelopment, Public Broadcasting, and the National Endowment for the Arts, and even Meals on Wheels that feeds elderly shut-in.
10. Twice tries to ban Muslims from entering the US through a legal subterfuge that gets knocked down by the courts.
11. Directs ICE to start deportations again for non-criminal offenders.
12. His initial travel ban even banned Green Card holders from reentering the US if they traveled abroad.
13. Claimed that British intelligence aided Obama’s wiretapping of Trump during the campaign.
14. Stated that connections between his campaign and Russia were “fake news”.
15. Claimed he would have a plan within 30 days to destroy ISIS, so far has produced nothing.
16. Rescinds the 30-year US commitment to a two-state solution of Israeli-Palestinian conflict, offers nothing in its place.
17. Appoints “Political Commissars” within major agencies to ensure that they are acting loyally toward Trump.
18. Fails to nominate candidates for hundreds of executive branch political appointees that need Senate confirmation.
19. Appoints Ben Carson to be HUD secretary, a neurosurgeon with no knowledge or expertise in Federal housing and urban policies.
20. Declared that Germany owes the US billions of dollars for defense spending.
21. Claimed that the crowds at his inauguration were much larger than Obama’s in 2009.
Trump’s approval ratings in the Gallup poll has dropped as low as 37% within the first 60 days of being President. This is unbelievably low for a new President. But it reflects two months of absolute dysfunction and flat-out lying. He still has the support of his diehard partisans. But if he does not fundamentally change how he conducts himself, he will continue to be a weak and ineffective President.
